Improve Your Quality of Life

The body was designed to move, adapt and change with our environment.

According to designedtomove.org, “In less than two generations, physical activity has dropped by 20% in the U.K. and 32% in the United States. In China, the decline is 45% in less than one generation. Vehicles, machines, and technology are now doing the moving for us. What we do in our leisure time doesn’t come close to making up for what we’ve lost.

The quality of our lives will no doubt improve when we return to moving, adapting, and changing as we were designed to do.

Regular Exercise
A half-hour of daily exercise can have a positive impact on both your physical and mental health. Not only can exercise trim your waistline, but it can also curb depression, ease anxiety, improve your memory, and improve your sleep.

Stay Active
When most people think of physical health, they often focus exclusively on exercise and a healthy diet.
A third key component to enhancing your body is a daily activity. As more jobs have become stationary desk jobs, it is more important than ever to try to walk 10,000 steps each day. You can accomplish this easily by parking in the back of the parking lot, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or walking to the local coffee shop instead of driving. These three steps can help you get in great shape, but also can improve your mood and quality of life.

Get the Rest Your Body Requires
It is vital to give your body the time it needs to recharge your batteries every night. Getting a full night of sleep is an essential part of living a happy and healthy life. Multiple sleep studies have found that getting adequate sleep can help you live longer, improve your memory, and heighten your awareness and creativity. Experts recommend at least 7 hours of sleep each night, and report that anything less can result in a negative mood and a low energy level.

Develop Healthy Relationships
Relationships play a significant role in your mental health. Healthy and supportive relationships will increase your happiness, life satisfaction, and psychological well-being, but they can also decrease the risk of suicide. Discontinuing unhealthy relationships and fostering healthy ones is vital to your well-being.

Addressing Physical Pain
The physical pain you feel, regardless of where it is located, is the body’s request for change. The response to stress and pain causes many joints to change position and ultimately become a habitual coping mechanism.
